You are probably correct in assuming that not all politicians in
any form of government are absolutely with great integrity 100%
of the time. You may be somewhat correct in some of your very
broad analogies, but the truth is not so simple to say that All
of america or for that matter the western culture is responsible
for the problems of the world. My analogy is probably just as
good as yours if you stand in my shoes. The simple basis of all
this disagreement between cultures and countrys is exactly the
same thing that happens between Brothers, or some kind of
sibiling rivalrey. Yes, I do believe in a God and I happen to
think it is crazy talk when I hear over zealous religious
fanatics make broad statements about the living rituals of one
another, and the way or methods of talking to God, I do not
accept this narrow minded crap from Radical Christians nor
radical muslims, or Orthadox Jews who spout off about how they
have the answer. If any or all of our problems of the world
might be so simple as to try and better understand each other
with what all of our religions teach us, and all of them have
some basic principles which contain the most important elements
to life on earth. That is to simply Love your God with all of
your Heart and all of your Soul. We have taken the blame game
too far and are easily able to twist the facts of reality to
suit our own purpose. The jealousy of one country over the next
because one prospers and one does not, sounds very much like a
familiar story in the Bible that did cause seperation in the
beggining of mans history. Could it be that we have not learned
a thing. This is not to say that the U.S. is 100% correct on
everything, but your comparisons are way too one sided. I am
certainly assured that we probably agree on more than you will
ever admit. I believe that all men women and children deserve
to have the freedom to chose which ever way they like to worship
and communicate with God without any hostility. I believe that
everyone should be able to have the basic essentials to life,
Clothing , food , Shelter. I wish for everyone to co-exist with
the one common bond between all, that is a true expression of
your love of God. Everything will take care of it self and fall
into place, if we try to respect each other and embrase our
differences. Now having said all of that we go right back to
the individual problems that we infact do disagree on. First of
all the history of the United States is certainly not perfect,
but it is a fact that we send more food and assistance to more
of the third world than any other country in the world, you may
not agree but it is a fact, England that tiny little piece of
land with all of those people on it has the greatest percentage
of individuals per person who contributes to chritable services
of any country in the world. Now it is never enough for
someone who can do more, to not take the opportunity to do so.
The United States for all of its own domestic problems has also
aided in several world conflicts throughout history , some for
the good and some not so good. At the present time you keep
bringing up some old history about Slavery and who took what
piece of land away from another, if we argue that all day we
only can come up with the same conclusion, that generaly
speaking Man throughout history has always tried to conquer and
seperate and divide, but the relevance is not without merit in
comparison to what goes on in the Middle east today. You cannot
simply hold one of your hands over one eye and see only the
wrong that happens in America. The Arab Muslims where some of
the very First to enslave the black Africans on there own
homeland, they created much terror in the name of there
professed religion, which was a great distortion. The early
Europeans did quite the same with the Crusades and used the
Cross to support what they were doing was in the blessed name of
Jesus. They reigned havoc over the Muslims who had earlier
conquered Spain, part of France and northern Africa. There are
countless stories in old Hebrew of the chosen people of God who
destroyed and conquered cities and other neighboring
communities. So where do you begin, well of course it seems to
make more sense to deal with the problems of today. Now if you
want to talk about what is going on in Iraq, you are not looking
at the whole truth, you are leaving out some big details, The
people of that country do not deserve to be constantly put down
for the antics of one selfish and very corrupt individual. I am
not totally supporting the way the U.S. has handled this but it
is a very difficult situation. Why was it so important for Iraq
to gain control of Kuwait? Did the people of that country
openly decide they wanted to become a rejoined part of Iraq?
The biggest problems in those country's are the horrible
ditribution of wealth. I have a business associate who has
traveled to the beautiful country of Morocco as a guest of the
King. To hear him talk of the lavish and beautiful
accomodations only to peer outside the walls and see the great
contrast. This is something that made it hard for him to
Understand. I am very aware that this to some degree happens in
Parts of the U.S. as well. But the big difference is the
opportunities are not as great for someone who has an idea or
vision to better improve there situation. The total intolerance
of new ideas is another thing that mkes it quite different. The
arguement will continue I'm sure of that. Sadly the results of
some fanatical groups hiding behind the false representaion of a
religion they do not follow. The position of many and attitudes
taken by some extremest has soured the possible understanding
that might take place. I wonder what you might think MR. canada
if this same thing happened in your backyard and your mother ,
father , or family member had died. I wonder what the United
States of America would do as your neighbor to the south. Do
you think the events taking place would be any different.
Wether you realize it or not for better or worse I feel the
response would very similar. I have been to Canada several
times and find it very interesting to say the least. The people
there are generaly nice but the country has no real identity.
I 'm not sure if that is good or bad. I was doing a little
survey and for fun asking people on the street if they knew who
was pictured on the canadian currency bills. And It was very
odd that after an entire day of spending money all over
different shops and the like not one person had a clue, until we
got to the Queen. I also had a great conversation with a man
real down home farmer type guy traeling with his family on
vacation. He appeared to be the salt of the earth kind of guy.
He mentioned to me that the politicians screwed up when dividing
Canada, and the United States. He thought they should have
divided it from east to west. Let the French have New York and
the rest of the East Coast and let vancouver and other western
canadian teritories join the United States. He was really a
very nice man, and I was kind of suprised that he said that.
Just an obsevation, I get the feeling Canada is still trying to
find itself, they speak French,& English and on the western side
if you travel to VaNCOUVER you might think you were in some
asian country. Don't get me wrong, I really think that is kind
of cool, but then Canadian's are over-shadowed politcaly and
economicaly by there neighbor's to the south. I'm sure it can
be frustrating, not that its a bad thing , but it just appears
that they are still trying to find an Identity. It is surely a
fact of the situation today that the northern country's of the
world seem to do better than most of the warmer and southern
hemospher country's. I wonder what the significants is. You
could almost draw a similar line of economic wealth that would
parallel western europe to the American continent. Canada,
U.S.,then south america. Scandinavian, England, France,
Germany, spain, italy then africa. I do think we have a
responsiblity to help these country's with some form of aid. It
is not always going to please everyone. But someone must try,
it is not as simple to just ignore things that go on. So we
have a difficult situation to a very difficult problem that is
not something that is possible to please everyone, and yes we
have corruption at every level. Including many of these radical
religious groups.
